Tottenham have gathered a host of brilliant young talent in their squad, be it from their academy or buying from across Europe. However, they have struggled to find a pathway for them in recent years.
Tottenham have the likes of Mikey Moore, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Luca Williams-Barnett, and more in their ranks. They have all impressed at their respective levels, but none more so than Luka Vuskovic.
The Croatian defender has been exceptional during his loan spells. This has also led to speculation about his future at Spurs despite not even having played for them.
Vuskovic opens up about his ‘biggest dream’
Spurs signed Vuskovic from Hajduk Split in 2023, and he joined them last year after turning 18. He was sent on loan to Hamburg, where he has become a key player as they look to avoid relegation.

Vuskovic’s performances have seen him being linked with multiple top clubs. However, he is officially set to return to Tottenham in the summer. He spoke about his future in a recent interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, sharing his dream as well. He said:
“In football, you never know. It could happen next year, or in ten years. I don’t want to promise anyone anything.
“But it’s my biggest dream to be on the pitch with him here in Hamburg, or later in Split. After this season, I’ll be a Tottenham player again. I have a contract there until 2030.”
Vuskovic’s brother, Mario, is currently suspended after receiving a four-year doping ban in 2022. He will be eligible to return to action for Hamburg from November next season. Hence, Tottenham could look to send the youngster back on loan at the German club next season.
Tottenham face a tough decision with Vuskovic
The 19-year-old has garnered interest from most of the European heavyweights like Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Liverpool are also monitoring Vuskovic, with Chelsea also in the mix.
Hence, Tottenham face a tough task to keep the youngster at the club. He has a contract until 2030 and the club will demand a massive fee to consider selling him.
However, if Tottenham get relegated, the youngster could potentially look to force his way out.
Moreover, Cristian Romero has also been linked with an exit this summer. Hence, if he leaves and Spurs stay up, they can bring in Vuskovic to their first team straightaway as the Argentine’s replacement.

Regardless, Tottenham cannot afford to lose such a big talent and must be smart in their decision-making to keep him at all costs.
