Tottenham have been developing a good core of young players over the years. Be it from their academy or by buying externally, they have some really exciting players in their squad.
Some of Tottenham’s academy stars, like Mikey Moore, Luca Williams-Barnett, James Donley, and Jun’ai Byfield, are expected to become superstars in the future. Meanwhile, players signed from elsewhere, like Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, are already showing their ability at the highest levels.
Arguably, the biggest talent at Spurs, though, is Luka Vuskovic. The Croatian defender has been exceptional on loan at Hamburg in both boxes this season and has garnered interest from top clubs across Europe.
Luka Modric shares thoughts on Tottenham loanee Luka Vuskovic
Tottenham signed Vuskovic from Hajduk Split for just £12 million in 2023. He then officially joined the club last year after turning 18, before being sent out on loan at Hamburg.
Vuskovic also made his senior debut for Croatia last year. He played in both their friendlies this month against Colombia and Brazil, and also scored against the former.

After both games, former Spurs star and Croatia skipper, Luka Modric, acknowledged Vuskovic’s talent and said (h/t Croatian Football):
“He played two very good matches, a great future is ahead of him, he just needs to continue like this.”
Vuskovic has made four senior appearances for Croatia, sharing the pitch with Modric three times. Moreover, the duo is likely to start at the FIFA World Cup this summer, which will be another big experience for the 19-year-old.
Modric’s comments, meanwhile, will be a big boost for Vuskovic and Tottenham fans. The legendary midfielder made 160 appearances for Spurs before joining Real Madrid in 2012 and becoming one of the greatest midfielders of all time.
Vuskovic is attracting plenty of interest across Europe
With his performances for Hamburg this season, Vuskovic has garnered attention from almost every top club in Europe. Barcelona are said to be monitoring him for a potential summer transfer, with Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich also keeping tabs. Liverpool are also interested in signing Vuskovic.
The centre-back’s contract at Tottenham expires in 2030, and the north London side will certainly be unwilling to let such a talent leave. However, they are currently in a relegation battle, and they will find it hard to convince him to stay over other prestigious offers.
Vuskovic, meanwhile, has also previously stated that he would want another loan spell at Hamburg to be able to play with his brother, Mario, next season. The latter will return to action for the German side after serving a doping ban.
