Tottenham have struggled in almost every department on and off the pitch this season, which is evident by their position in the Premier League.
The North London outfit are 17th in the league standings with 15 defeats, nine draws, and just seven wins in 31 games. They are a point above the relegation zone and have just seven games remaining. They desperately need to win Premier League games, which they haven’t done since December 28.
One area where Spurs have struggled this season is their attack. While there are multiple factors for it, the Lilywhites will look to make changes in their attacking department in the summer.
Tottenham to compete with Chelsea for Fisnik Asllani
Tottenham have scored just 40 goals in 31 Premier League games this season, with 11 teams having scored more. For reference, they were seventh in the list last season. Hence, they are looking to reinforce their attack in the summer.
As per BILD, Spurs are interested in signing Fisnik Asllani. However, they will have to compete with their London rivals, Chelsea, for his signature. Borussia Dortmund are also monitoring the 23-year-old striker.
Asllani came through Union Berlin and Hoffenheim’s academy. He has made 39 senior appearances for the latter, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists. While he was born in Germany, Asllani is a Kosovo international and has scored four goals in 14 games for them.

The striker’s contract with Hoffenheim is valid until 2029, and it contains an interesting clause. He would cost €30 million for clubs that have been in the UEFA Champions League in the last three years and €25 million for clubs that haven’t.
Tottenham and Chelsea have both featured just once in Europe’s biggest club competitions in the last three seasons. Hence, they are the ‘hottest candidates’ to sign the striker over the other interested clubs.
BILD also adds that Borussia Dortmund have marked Asllani as a potential replacement for Serhou Guirassy, who has also garnered interest from Tottenham.
Tottenham on the hunt for a striker
All three of Tottenham’s strikers have failed to make a big impact this season. They had to play in Thomas Frank’s passive system and also deal with the absence of James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.
However, only Richarlison has reached double figures with 10 goals and four assists across competitions.
Dominic Solanke has scored six goals in 17 games, while having to deal with a big ankle injury. Randal Kolo Muani, meanwhile, has contributed five goals and four assists in 34 games. He is expected to return to PSG after his loan spell. Hence, Spurs are in the market for a striker.

Aside from Asllani, Tottenham have also been linked with Nicolo Tresoldi. However, they will have to compete with Arsenal for his signature. De Zerbi, meanwhile, has urged Spurs to sign Moise Kean, if reports from Italy are to be believed.
They will likely have to secure their place in the Premier League next season before signing any of them, though.
