Tottenham Hotspur are likely to sign a striker in the summer transfer window.
Dominic Solanke and Richarlison are already at the club, but the North London outfit need a certified game changer who can bang in the goals.
Randal Kolo Muani, meanwhile, is set to return to Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season after his loan deal expires, opening up another spot in the team.
And if reports from Germany are to be believed, Tottenham are keeping tabs on a talented striker who is in the middle of an almighty tussle in terms of his international allegiance.
Tottenham monitoring Nicolo Tresoldi
Every season, a handful of strikers emerge across Europe from the lower leagues and go on to secure moves to the so-called bigger clubs.
And judging by how the current campaign has gone, Nicolo Tresoldi could be one to watch this summer.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham are monitoring the young striker, who is also wanted by Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund.
Currently at Club Brugge, he has notched up 17 goals and five assists in all competitions for the Belgian outfit and is valued at around £25m.
Tresoldi is yet to be capped at senior level but is eligible for as many as three countries. He has an Italian dad and an Argentine mother, while he has played age-group football for Germany, making his situation rather complicated.
However, it could well be resolved before the 2026 FIFA World Cup if one of the aforementioned countries decide to call him up.
BILD (via One Football) describe the 21-year-old as Germany’s ‘greatest’ striking talent, so it goes without saying that it would be a big boost for Tottenham if they get this over the line.
Other strikers linked with Tottenham
Roberto De Zerbi is set to be confirmed as Tottenham boss and the Italian is likely to scour the market for a talented striker to lead the line.
Earlier this year, Keisuke Goto was linked with a move to Hotspur Way, with the Japanese striker another young talent banging in the goals in the Belgian Pro League.
Palmeiras striker Flaco Lopez is also on the club’s radar, with the Argentine earning comparisons with Roberto Firmino for his style of play.
Jonathan David is another name on Tottenham’s shortlist, making it clear that they are well and truly in the market for attacking reinforcements.
Their primary focus will be to avoid relegation and transfers will take a back seat until then. However, when Tottenham decide to pull the trigger, they won’t be short of options.
