Roberto De Zerbi has asserted that he would stay at Tottenham even if they get relegated from the Premier League this season.
One of Tottenham’s major struggles over the years has been a lack of a proper recruitment strategy. They have built squads containing different types of players suited to different types of managers.
Hence, if De Zerbi indeed stays regardless of the league Spurs are in, it could help them build a cohesive transfer strategy. They could look to bring in players suited to the Italian’s style, instead of waiting to find a new manager first.
De Zerbi wants Moise Kean at Tottenham
Tottenham are looking to make De Zerbi their Sir Alex Ferguson. This means they are set to give him more influence in off-the-pitch decisions, including transfers. As per Calciomercato, the Italian has urged the club to sign Moise Kean this summer.
Kean graduated from Juventus’ academy and made 123 senior appearances for them, scoring 22 goals. He moved to Everton in 2019 but returned to Juve in 2021 on loan before the move was made permanent two years later. He then joined Fiorentina the following year.

The 26-year-old striker has scored 34 goals and provided seven assists in 77 games for the Italian side. His recent performances have helped Fiorentina climb out of the relegation places in the Serie A, as they sit five points above the drop zone.
He is expected to leave the Italian side this summer, who have set an asking price of £44 million. AC Milan are also interested in signing him, but are unlikely to match the fee, while Tottenham are willing to do so.
Notably, Fiorentina’s Sporting Director is Fabio Paratici, who left Tottenham in January this year. Moreover, they have Manor Solomon on loan, who can be part of a potential swap deal for Kean.
Tottenham hold a longstanding interest in Kean
Spurs were notably linked with a move for Moise Kean last summer as well. As per Tuttosport, arch-rivals Tottenham and Arsenal were monitoring the Italian, but a deal didn’t materialize. While the Gunners signed Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting, Spurs brought in Randal Kolo Muani on loan from PSG.

Kolo Muani is expected to return to the French giants after an underwhelming loan spell. He has contributed five goals and four assists in 34 games, with only one goal and one assist coming in 23 Premier League appearances.
Richarlison has been linked with a return to Everton this summer as well, despite being Tottenham’s top scorer this season. Hence, Kean could be a good replacement for the Brazilian striker. Any potential move, however, will depend on the north London side staying up.
