‘Nobody’ – Journalist provides worrying update on Tottenham’s managerial search after Igor Tudor’s departure

Tottenham Hotspur have their work cut out for them after Igor Tudor parted ways with the club by mutual consent earlier today.

The recent death of his father, coupled with the club’s recent form, meant a mutual separation was the best solution for everyone involved.

Roberto de Zerbi has been linked with Tottenham, while Sean Dyche also has keen admirers at N17 owing to his fire-fighting abilities in terms of the relegation battle.

However, talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has provided a worrying update on Tottenham’s managerial search that could cause a lot of worry within the fan base.

Tottenham have no replacements lined up

Roberto de Zerbi and Sean Dyche have been linked with Tottenham, but it remains to be seen if they are interested in taking the job at this stage of the season.

The aforementioned report also mentions Adi Hutter, Robbie Keane, Chris Hughton and Ryan Mason as candidates, but none of them have the credentials to take a job of such magnitude, barring Hughton, maybe, owing to his experience in the game.

And now, Crook says Tottenham have essentially parted with Tudor without having a proper replacement in mind, which is a clear sign that they just wanted to see the back of the Croatian due to the current situation.

“From what I’m told, nobody at this stage has been lined up to come in and replace Igor Tudor,” said Crook on talkSPORT.

“That may sound odd, but they have two weeks until they next play a game. The hierarchy are confident they can put contingency plans in place.”

Tottenham will appoint new manager before next game

As Crook mentioned on talkSPORT, Tottenham’s situation is dire, but they don’t play in the Premier League until April 12th, giving them a bit more time to get the right man in.

They are the only winless side in the Premier League in 2026 and have the best part of two weeks to identify Tudor’s replacement.

The Croatian picked up just one point from five Premier League games, a record that looks worse considering Forest and West Ham have started to pick up the pace in recent weeks.

Johan Lange and Vinai Venkatesham have their work cut out for them as they look for their fourth Tottenham manager in less than 12 months. The margin for error is small, if any, so one wrong decision could result in Championship football next season.
