Conor Gallagher finally made his mark for Tottenham as he played a starring role in Tottenham’s 2-1 win against Aston Villa.
In fact, the North London outfit produced arguably their best performance of the season as they secured a priceless win at Villa Park.
Gallagher broke the deadlock with a fantastic finish from outside the box, while Richarlison doubled Tottenham’s lead minutes later with a well-timed header.
Emi Buendia’s stoppage-time goal was a mere consolation as Tottenham prepare to travel back to North London with three points in the bag.
And Gallagher was absolutely elated at full-time as he spoke to the media about what the result means for the club.
Gallagher hails De Zerbi’s Tottenham impact
De Zerbi has taken charge of four Premier League games for Tottenham since replacing Igor Tudor at the helm.
He has overseen two wins, a draw and a loss in that period, which is a fantastic return considering their relegation struggles.

And Gallagher described it as the perfect night as he lavished praise on the Italian for his impact at Tottenham.
“We’re really happy with the performance and the three points. It’s been a perfect night but hopefully it’s just the start,” said Gallagher to TNT Sports after the game (quotes via BBC).
“We want to carry it on for the last few games of the season.
“It’s a good goal. I’m really happy with my first goal. It’s always a relief to get the first goal and hopefully a few more can come now.
“I can’t speak highly enough of him [De Zerbi]. He’s been so good. Every player in the squad has taken to him; he makes you feel so good. He brings the best out of you.
And finally, the Englishman also hailed the impact of the Tottenham fans, who were in full voice at the away end.
“They’ve had a really rough time this season, along with us. We’re all one. Hopefully, this can be the start of something great.”

Tottenham are officially out of the relegation zone at West Ham’s expense, although they are just a point above Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Things change very quickly during this stage of the season, so they need to be on their toes and continue their newfound momentum.
Tottenham host Leeds United next in the Premier League and a win there would really put them on the cusp of Premier League survival.
