Tottenham are staring at the possibility of a major squad rebuild this summer. They could see multiple players leave after an abysmal 2025-26 campaign.
Tottenham are in a relegation battle, and it’s unclear whether they will be in the Premier League next season. However, they could see a major clear-out, with many players linked with an exit. The likes of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven could leave even if they stay up.
Another defender linked with a potential exit is Radu Dragusin. The Romanian has struggled during his time at Spurs, but reportedly has numerous potential suitors this summer.
Tottenham star Dragusin’s agent says they rejected Saudi Arabia approach
Dragusin’s agent, Florin Manea, has been outspoken about his client’s ambitions of playing for the likes of Real Madrid even since he joined Tottenham. In a recent interview, he also revealed that he rejected a big offer from Saudi Arabia to stay in Europe.

Manea told Romanian outlet iAM Sport:
“We refused €50m over five years for Radu. €10m per year. Someone from Saudi Arabia called us and said they would give us €10m net per year to go there. We didn’t even consider it.”
“€10m per year? Tell me how many would refuse that. It could have gone up to €15m, even €20m per year. It could have reached €100m over five years. I would have taken a commission of €20-30m. But we were not interested.”
Tottenham signed Dragusin from Genoa in January 2024 for €25 million + add-ons, beating Bayern Munich for his signature. He currently earns between €7 and €8 million per year at Spurs. Hence, a Saudi Arabian offer would have certainly been a big financial boost for him and Manea.
However, the 24-year-old wants to stay and develop in Europe. Manea also revealed that RB Leipzig made an offer for Dragusin in January, and they could return in the summer.
Tottenham should part ways with Radu Dragusin
Dragusin has made 46 appearances for Tottenham across competitions and has largely been underwhelming. To be fair to him, he’s often had to play with a backup team or during an injury crisis, which doesn’t help a player. Moreover, he suffered an ACL injury last season.

However, Spurs have some good defenders like Romero and Kevin Danso for the right-hand side. Moreover, youngsters like Luka Vuskovic, Kota Takai, Ashley Phillips, and Junai Byfield are also developing well.
Hence, the north London side should look to sell Dragusin this summer. With his contract expiring in 2030, they might even be able to make a profit on him, with the likes of Leipzig and AC Milan previously linked.
