Tottenham are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League standings after a terrible start to the new season.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side are yet to win a game in the competition despite splashing the cash on as many as ten new signings.
The Lilywhites are in a spot of bother, which has led to questions over the Italian’s future at the club.
And now, it has categorically been confirmed that De Zerbi will keep his place at the helm at Tottenham despite their torrid Premier League form.
Tottenham have no intention of sacking Roberto De Zerbi
Speaking at a fan event recently, Vinai Venkatesham expressed his desire to continue with the Italian at the helm.
“Vinai Venkatesham expressed confidence in Roberto De Zerbi, in the players brought in and in the changes made, noting the considerable work underway behind the scenes,” state the recently published minutes of the meeting.
“The club had made significant changes over the summer, both on and off the pitch, and recognised that these might take time to take full effect.
“Venkatesham was encouraged by aspects of the underlying performances since the opening day defeat, but acknowledged the disappointment at the current points total even at this early point in the season and recognised the frustration this caused supporters following the previous campaign.
“Supporter backing, home and away, had been excellent and was not taken for granted. He acknowledged that the club must earn supporters’ belief through results.”
De Zerbi saved Tottenham from the drop last season and needs a bit more time for his new players to get to grips with the team, so talks of his potential sacking shouldn’t even be encouraged at this point in time.
