Andy Robertson was in the thick of the action for Tottenham as they secured a 2-0 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
An own goal from Mike Penders broke the deadlock late in the second half, after which Mathys Tel settled the contest with a fantastic solo effort.
A lot has been said about Tel this season as he continues to deliver the required end product.
And Robertson feels the Frenchman was simply outstanding vs Chelsea as he played a big part in a statement win at the home of the Blues.
Andy Robertson lauds Tottenham winger Mathys Tel
“Mathys Tel in front of me was outstanding today,” said Robertson via Sky Sports after the game.
“He gave us a lot of options in behind and to hold the ball up. I thought our midfield was outstanding, and the defence was good with the ball at our feet as well.
“We moved Chelsea around and took them into areas where they were probably a bit uncomfortable.
“It’s not an easy place to come, Stamford Bridge, and to show that confidence, have the possession stats we had and keep the ball so well is a credit to all the lads. I’m glad we got the goals in the end as well.”
As we mentioned earlier, Tel’s end product needs to improve for him to become a reliable Premier League attacker.
However, when he gets it right, he is some player to watch in full flow as he silenced Stamford Bridge with a goal for the ages.
