Igor Tudor’s future has emerged as a big talking point after Tottenham Hotspur’s calamitous 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
The Croatian has picked up just one point from five league games and Tottenham are winless in the competition in 2026.
To make matters worse, they are just a point above 18th-placed West Ham United, while Forest have leapfrogged them in the table after their convincing win.
Earlier this week, there were reports that Tottenham would try to convince Roberto de Zerbi to take the job immediately.
However, with the Italian unwilling to jump straight into a relegation battle, the Lilywhites are considering approaching Sean Dyche, who knows a thing or two about those situations.
Dyche to the rescue for Tottenham?
With just seven games to go in the Premier League season to conclude, Tottenham are sleepwalking into relegation.
While they were expected to turn a corner after their 1-1 draw against Liverpool, exactly the opposite happened against Forest.
Vitor Pereira’s side looked fitter, faster and showed more desire as Tottenham fell flat in front of their own fans in what was supposed to be a relegation six-pointer.
To make matters worse, Tudor was informed of the tragic passing of his father, Mario, immediately after the game, due to which he has been granted compassionate leave.
With his future hanging in the balance, The Telegraph report that Dyche is among the candidates Tottenham are considering as they aim to avoid the drop.

He was sacked by Forest a day before Tudor took over on an interim basis and has successfully navigated several such situations over the course of his career so far.
The report confirms that while De Zerbi is still the primary candidate, Dyche could emerge as their fallback option, although they face an uphill battle to convince the Englishman to take the role on an interim basis.
Dyche could be a masterstroke
He’s been there and done it so often in the past, so to be completely honest, there isn’t a better man for the job right now. Style of play and everything else is thrown out of the window, as avoiding the drop is the name of the game for Tottenham now.
Dyche won’t need too much time to drill his methods into his players, in stark contrast to what would be the case with De Zerbi.

Additionally, the timing couldn’t be any better for Tottenham as they don’t play again in the Premier League until July 12th.
The same report from The Telegraph confirms that a decision on Tudor will be made before Monday, after which they will decide whether or not to approach Dyche.
Tottenham are in desperate need of a saviour and considering Dyche’s track record in the Premier League, they need to put their money where their mouth is and do everything it takes to get him on board immediately.
