Tottenham want to sign Barcelona player valued at around €55m

Tottenham Hotspur endured a summer of change under Roberto De Zerbi as they made ten new signings.

A handful of key players like Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Guglielmo Vicario also left the club during the summer transfer window, so their squad was essentially overhauled.

In defence, Romero’s departure left a big hole in terms of his playing ability and leadership.

Tottenham signed both Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke to fill the void. However, if reports are to be believed, they are also keeping tabs on Barcelona defender Eric Garcia.

Tottenham want Eric Garcia

Ekrem Konur of Sportowi reports that Tottenham, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Inter, AS Roma, Fiorentina, Como, and PSG are tracking the Spanish international, who is valued at around €55m.

An excerpt from the article reads: “According to Ekrem Konur on Sportowy.Net, interest in the Spanish international is particularly strong in England.

“Eric Garcia is already familiar with the Premier League from his time at Manchester City, which is why his name is on the lists of potential signings for Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.

“Newcastle United have also been linked with the player, with representatives or intermediaries reportedly passing on information regarding the possibility of a transfer.”

Garcia is an experienced figure and is no stranger to the Premier League, having played for Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.

The Spaniard is also capable of playing as a right-back, making him an intriguing option for teams to consider.

However, at that price, it remains to be seen if Tottenham bite, as they already have a handful of defensive options.
