Micky van de Ven endured an eventful summer at Tottenham Hotspur.
It initially looked like he would leave the club, but Roberto De Zerbi convinced him to stay.
Van de Ven took over the captain’s armband from Cristian Romero and signed a long-term deal to prove his commitment to the club.
In recent days, he has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United, but Tottenham have confirmed that he is not for sale.
Tottenham have no intention of selling Micky van de Ven
Football Insider have confirmed that there is no scenario where they sanction Van de Ven’s sale in 2027, be it to Liverpool, Manchester United or anyone else.
An excerpt from the article reads: “Tottenham are quite relaxed about this. They tied down Van de Ven to a new contract in August until 2031.
“So look, Tottenham hold all the aces here; he’s been made club captain as well, so I can’t imagine they’ll be too keen to lose such a key player.
“Tottenham won’t be entertaining a sale anytime soon. Top players will always attract interest and have suitors, but he’s under a long-term contract at Tottenham and they’re planning for life with Mickey van de Ven.”
That is that. The Dutchman signed a new deal and is Tottenham’s captain, so he is well and truly here for the long haul. Case closed.
