Tottenham told to pay whopping €100m to re-sign 24-year-old

Tottenham Hotspur have made some questionable decisions in the transfer market in recent seasons.

They made ten new signings this summer, and the jury is still out on how well they fare, so it’s too early to pass a judgement.

Nevertheless, their frailties in the transfer market are well known. And now, it appears as if they need to break the bank to re-sign Troy Parrott, who has made a massive impression since leaving the club.

Tottenham told to pay €100m for Troy Parrott

The 24-year-old left Tottenham in 2024 to join AZ Alkmaar, where he became one of the most potent strikers in the Netherlands.

And earlier this summer, there were reports that he could return to Tottenham, but he sealed a move to Real Betis.

Parrott has already got off the mark for the LaLiga side and scored an outrageous solo goal for Ireland during the ongoing international break.

And now, amid claims that Tottenham are interested in re-signing him, Estadio Deportivo report that Betis have included a €100m release clause in his contract.

If that’s the fee it will take to bring Parrott back to North London, Tottenham’s pursuit is effectively over as they have just broken the bank on several big signings.

If the 24-year-old was at the club right now, who is to say he wouldn’t be starting games regularly over Dom Solanke? Another case of what could have been, eh?
