Tottenham news as January transfer window plan emerges

Tottenham Hotspur are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League standings and are winless in the competition this season.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side haven’t delivered the goods and will look to get their first win of the season when they take on Manchester United this weekend.

The Lilywhites haven’t played particularly badly in recent weeks but have struggled in front of goal.

They are expected to add to their squad in January, but reports from England confirm that they will not splash the cash once again.

Tottenham won’t splash the cash in January

Football Insider report that Tottenham will instead look to nab a bargain or two in January to bolster their ranks.

An excerpt from the article reads: “Sources say that Tottenham have no plans for another “big-money” window, and will instead focus on getting value for money from cost-effective targets.”

“Spurs remain winless after their opening five Premier League games, a run of form which has highlighted clear issues within the squad.

“The club hierarchy are planning to help rectify those in January, but are not prepared to commit a similar amount of money to what they did in the summer.”

Honestly, it’s a little frustrating that we’re already talking about new signings after bringing in ten new players during the summer transfer window.

As for the plan, it makes sense, but Tottenham really need to get some wins on the board to get their confidence back.
