Mikey Moore is back at Tottenham Hotspur after a fantastic loan spell with Rangers during the 2025-26 campaign.
His future is yet to be decided as Roberto De Zerbi aims to make a decision after watching him closely during pre-season.
In terms of potential incomings, Tottenham have been active but are yet to reinforce their attack.
And now, if reports in Germany are to be believed, they could be in the race for Said El Mala, who is wanted by Liverpool and Brighton, among other clubs.
Tottenham tipped for complicated deal with Koln
According to Sky Deutschland as relayed by Sport Witness, Koln are interested in signing Moore this summer, who was linked wth Borussia Dortmund in 2025 before moving to Rangers.
The England U-19 international is likely to be out of De Zerbi’s plans, so a departure has yet to be ruled out.
However, Koln can’t compete with the riches of other clubs and will likely not be able to meet Tottenham’s asking price for the player.
And this is where El Mala enters the picture. According to the aforementioned report, Brighton are looking to make one final push for the German international, who is valued at around £43m.
If that deal goes through, Koln will have the money to do a deal with Tottenham for Moore.
And finally, the report also claims that Tottenham could position themselves for El Mala and offer Moore as a sweetener in the deal, which is something that could work out for all parties involved.
There are a lot of moving parts here, but the prospects are intriguing to say the least, especially since Tottenham were linked with El Mala earlier in the summer.
Koln director Thomas Kessler described the German attacker as a remarkable talent, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see him get a big move this summer.
“Said developed into one of the best players in the 3. Liga last season and had an impressive U19 Euros to underline his remarkable development,” said Kessler via the Bundesliga’s official website.
“We back Said to make the leap straight into our Bundesliga team and will support him in the best possible way on that journey.”
However, with Liverpool and Brighton also interested, it remains to be seen how this once develops in the coming weeks.
