Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the most active Premier League sides in the transfer market and have shown no signs of slowing down.
Their incoming transfers have been well documented, but in terms of outgoings, Djed Spence has been linked with a departure, with Inter Milan and Liverpool reportedly interested in securing his signature.
The England international enhanced his reputation with a handful of fantastic displays under Thomas Tuchel, which has led to interest from some of the biggest clubs in the world.
And now, reports from England confirm that Manchester United have joined the race to sign Spence.
Manchester United want to sign Djed Spence this summer
Manchester United have Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw and Noussair Mazraoui as their full-back options, so they could do well with another quality player in that position to fill both flanks.
Football Insider report that the Red Devils are weighing up a move for Spence after Michael Carrick took notice of his performances at the World Cup.
Inter Milan are currently locked in talks to sign Spence but could be put off by his price tag, which is believed to be in the region of £40m.
For Premier League sides such as Liverpool and Manchester United, that figure won’t be as prohibitive, but it remains to be seen if they cough up the cash for a player who won’t be a guaranteed starter at either of the two clubs.
Spence is a wanted man this summer and his Tottenham future is in doubt. If the asking price is met, the Lilywhites could sell, but they won’t be against keeping him for another season as he is a player who can add a lot of value under Roberto De Zerbi.
