‘Heavily’ – Gary Neville explains area where Tottenham ‘dominated’ Chelsea

Tottenham have finally come to the party in the Premier League as they secured a statement 2-0 win vs Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

An own goal from Mike Penders, followed by a fantastic solo effort from Mathys Tel, gave the Lilywhites only their second Premier League win at the home of the Blues.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side dominated the game and deservedly got three points on the board.

And Gary Neville feels Tottenham dominating the midfield battle helped them win the game.

And that helped the Lilywhites dominate possession and dictate the pace of the game, which ended in their favour.

“Tottenham outplayed Chelsea and they were brilliant,” said Neville via Sky Sports.

“None of us expected that today, after 10, 15 mins, their confidence grew. James Maddison was part of that.

“Spurs just dominated especially in midfield where they’ve invested so heavily, that felt like Robert De Zerbi’s project coming to life. A bad day for Chelsea.”

Tottenham have played much better than what their points tally suggests so far, but the win against Chelsea certainly does feel like a watershed moment.
