Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal in principle with Pogoń Szczecin for the permanent transfer of Alfie Dorrington. Final terms still need to be completed before the academy defender can leave north London.
Ben Jacobs reports that the Polish club have reached an initial agreement with Spurs. No transfer fee or details regarding potential future clauses have yet been disclosed.
Dorrington joined Tottenham’s academy at the age of 13 and progressed through the youth ranks. The Enfield-born centre-back made his senior debut during a 5-0 Premier League win over Southampton in December 2024.
Tottenham handed Dorrington a contract until 2029 before sending him to Aberdeen on loan. He later returned to the Scottish club and spent the second half of last season with Salford City.

A permanent move would give Dorrington an opportunity to establish himself in senior football rather than continuing through the loan system.
The 21-year-old faces significant competition for a Tottenham place. Roberto De Zerbi already has several established centre-backs, while the club have continued investing heavily in the position.
Dorrington’s departure would also continue a busy period of academy sales. Tottenham officially confirmed Will Lankshear’s permanent move to Middlesbrough after agreeing a package which could eventually reach £20million.
Spurs have also sold Tynan Thompson to Manchester United and lost Elijah Upson to Arsenal this summer. Those moves have increased scrutiny around the pathway from Tottenham’s academy into De Zerbi’s first team.
Dorrington remains under contract, so Tottenham can negotiate a fee and protect their position through possible sell-on or matching clauses. However, Jacobs has not reported whether either provision will feature in the agreement.
The deal is not yet complete. Pogoń Szczecin and Tottenham must finalise the remaining terms before Dorrington can begin the next stage of his career in Poland.
