Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of Premier League survival were boosted on Sunday as Roberto De Zerbi’s side won 2-1 against Aston Villa.

The two Tottenham players who featured in Alan Shearer’s team were Gallagher, who has shone at Spurs since Roberto De Zerbi’s arrival and Van de Ven.

De Zerbi was handpicked by the veteran as the standout manager in the English top-flight in matchweek 35 as well.

Interestingly, Tottenham target Marco Senesi was also named in Alan Shearer’s side after turning heads in AFC Bournemouth’s 3-0 triumph against Crystal Palace.

Roberto De Zerbi needs Conor Gallagher and Micky van de Ven to stay consistent

Tottenham fans will be hoping that their two-game winning streak is not broken by Leeds United, even though West Ham face a tough test against Arsenal on Sunday.

Considering Gallagher is enjoying life under Roberto De Zerbi, the Italian tactician will also be relying on him to continue operating as a lionhearted presence in the middle of the park.

As for Van de Ven, who could stay at Spurs after being linked with an exit for months, he, too, must continue stepping up to the plate as he is one of the club’s most important players.

If Tottenham intend to retain their Premier League status, two of their experienced heads must lead by example.
