At a glance:
- Galatasaray want Xavi Simons
- Loan deal mooted
- Barcelona also interested
Xavi Simons produced one of his best performances for Tottenham as they played out a 2-2 draw against Brighton last week.
The Dutch international scored a fantastic goal in the second half and also provided a brilliant assist for Pedro Porro’s opener.
De Zerbi praised Simons last week and Tottenham fans will hope he carries on in the same vein in the coming weeks.
However, if they get relegated to the Championship, he could be on his way out of the club after just one year.
Galatasaray want loan deal for Xavi Simons
Simons joined Tottenham in the summer of 2025 for a fee believed to be in the region of £57m.
He’s still getting to grips with English football but has started to find his feet in 2026, as was the case in the draw against Brighton last week.

However, if Tottenham are relegated, Simons’ future is set to emerge as a big talking point.
Foto Spor report that Galatasaray want the Dutch international on loan, which could work out well for them if the North London outfit are in the Championship.
The Turkish Super Lig side want to sign a No.10 and view him as the ideal candidate for the role.
Barcelona have also been linked with a move for Simons, who graduated from the famed La Masia academy.
Tottenham can’t lose Simons
Dejan Kulusevski hasn’t featured this season and James Maddison only returned to the match-day squad against Brighton, so Tottenham have been desperately devoid of creativity this season.

Simons notched up two goal contributions against Brighton and is expected to start each of Tottenham’s remaining five games this season.
In the summer, if Tottenham are still in the Premier League, they shouldn’t entertain a scenario where they agree to part with him after a solitary season.
He was always going to be a long-term investment and De Zerbi clearly loves working with him.
Tottenham need to sign some good attackers to play alongside Simons, who could be central to their project under the Italian.
