  • Mohammed Kudus return imminent
  • No new injury concerns ahead of Forest
  • Updates on Maddison, Solanke and more

Igor Tudor is preparing for his most important game in charge of Tottenham Hotspur as they prepare for the visit of Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Both sides are separated by just one point in the Premier League standings and with the relegation battle heating up, three points at home will ease the pressure on the Croatian.

In recent weeks, Tottenham have shown signs of life under their interim boss, building on their 1-1 draw against Liverpool with a fantastic display against Atletico Madrid despite bowing out of the UEFA Champions League.

Key players have also returned from injuries in recent weeks, which has been a massive boost.

And now, they could have another important player back, with Mohammed Kudus edging closer to full fitness.

Kudus back after the international break

Tottenham welcomes back Cristian Romero, Conor Gallagher, Destiny Udogie and Lucas Bergvall for the second leg against Atletico Madrid.

While Romero started the game, the trio came on as substitutes to see off the game as they secured a 3-2 win in front of their own fans.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Forest, Tudor confirmed that James Maddison is edging closer to full fitness, while Dominic Solanke is also expected to feature on Sunday after recovering from a hip problem.

The Croatian also spoke about Mohammed Kudus, who has been sidelined since January 4th with a thigh injury he sustained in the 1-1 draw against Sunderland.

While Tudor confirmed that the game against Forest will come too soon for the 25-year-old, he could feature on April 12th, incidentally against Sunderland in the reverse fixture.

“So, we have three weeks after the game on Sunday,” said Tudor when asked about Kudus.

“I don’t know, probably some part of the things with the squad, maybe 10 days. I’m not sure; we need to check. But he’s progressing very well already with the ball.”

The former Juventus boss also appeared to suggest that Rodrigo Bentancur could also be back for that game, with the Uruguayan currently missing due to a hamstring injury he sustained in mid-January.

No new injury concerns for Tottenham

For once, things are looking good on the injury front for Tottenham and the timing couldn’t be any better.

With key players returning for the business end of the campaign, their focus will be on getting points on the board in the Premier League to avoid the drop.

Richarlison will also be back in the squad for Forest after missing the game against Atleti due to a suspension.

Finally, Tudor has a problem of plenty in his squad and it will be interesting to see his team selection on Sunday.
