Seven Tottenham players could leave after Roberto De Zerbi transfer bombshell

Tottenham Hotspur could sanction as many as seven further departures before the transfer deadline as Roberto De Zerbi continues his drastic overhaul of the squad.

Spurs have already spent heavily on rebuilding De Zerbi’s team, but the final days of the window could now be dominated by players heading in the opposite direction.

Richarlison, Kevin Danso and Pape Matar Sarr have all told De Zerbi they want to leave Tottenham, while several younger players could also secure moves in search of regular football.

Here are seven Spurs players whose futures remain unresolved.

Richarlison

Richarlison now appears increasingly likely to return to Everton.

As ReadTottenham reported on Sunday, Tottenham and Everton have reached an agreement in principle over separate moves involving Richarlison and Iliman Ndiaye.

The Brazilian has repeatedly made his desire to leave clear to De Zerbi and was omitted from the squad against Newcastle United.

With Omar Marmoush and Savio among Tottenham’s attacking additions this summer, Richarlison’s route to regular starts has narrowed considerably.

Pape Matar Sarr

Sarr’s departure has been developing for several days.

The Senegal international has fallen down the midfield hierarchy following Tottenham’s significant summer recruitment and has informed the club he wants more regular football.

ReadTottenham reported that Sarr has been offered to Juventus, while AS Monaco have also held talks over a move.

Nottingham Forest have previously pursued the 23-year-old as well.

His departure now appears a realistic possibility if Tottenham receive an acceptable financial proposal.

Kevin Danso

Danso is the significant addition to Tottenham’s potential departure list.

De Zerbi revealed after the 2-0 defeat against Newcastle that the defender had approached him two days earlier to request a transfer.

According to Sky Sports, Spurs have already rejected a loan approach from Sunderland.

Tottenham’s additions of Jan Paul van Hecke and Marcos Senesi have increased competition at centre-back.

De Zerbi has made his stance clear. Players can leave if suitable financial solutions are presented to the club.

Mikey Moore

Moore is a different situation because Tottenham are considering a temporary move rather than cutting ties with one of their brightest academy talents.

FC Köln have pursued the teenager throughout the summer and are continuing to push for a loan.

De Zerbi has admitted he would like to keep Moore but acknowledged that regular first-team football must be considered when deciding the youngster’s future.

The arrivals of Savio and Marmoush could now make a loan easier to sanction.

Kota Takai

Takai could also leave temporarily after returning from his spell with Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The 21-year-old faces considerable competition for minutes in De Zerbi’s defence, with Micky van de Ven, Van Hecke, Senesi and others currently ahead of him.

Football.london reports that Watford are interested in taking the Japan international.

Another loan could offer Takai the regular football Tottenham cannot currently guarantee.

Jamie Donley

Another academy player who could be heading out is Jamie Donley.

The 21-year-old has already built considerable senior experience through loans with Leyton Orient, Stoke City and Oxford United.

Luton Town are now reportedly interested in another temporary move.

At this stage of Donley’s development, another season of consistent senior minutes looks more valuable than remaining on the fringes of De Zerbi’s first-team squad.

Dane Scarlett

Dane Scarlett completes the list.

The Tottenham academy striker spent the second half of last season with Hibernian and has already experienced several loan spells away from north London.

Reading are now reportedly interested in the 22-year-old.

Scarlett has entered the final two years of his Tottenham contract, making the decision over his next move increasingly important for both the player and club.

Tottenham face frantic end to transfer window

The remarkable element is the scale of Tottenham’s transformation.

Eight senior additions have reshaped De Zerbi’s squad, while several established players have already departed.

There could now be another wave of exits.

Richarlison, Sarr and Danso have actively asked to leave. Moore, Takai, Donley and Scarlett represent different cases, with regular playing time central to decisions over their futures.

Not every departure will necessarily materialise before the deadline, but Tottenham’s business is far from finished
