Juventus advance Pape Matar Sarr talks

Juventus are discussing an initial loan deal with Tottenham which would include a clause allowing them to purchase Sarr.

However, Spurs are pushing for the proposed agreement to contain a conditional obligation to buy.

Romano reported: “Juventus have agreed on personal terms with Pape Matar Sarr; he wants the move.”

The final agreement therefore remains dependent on Tottenham and Juventus finding common ground over the structure of the transfer.

Sarr’s desire to leave is no longer in doubt.

De Zerbi confirmed after Tottenham’s defeat against Newcastle United that the Senegal international was one of three players to have requested a move, alongside Richarlison and Kevin Danso.

As ReadTottenham outlined on Sunday, several clubs have shown interest in Sarr during the closing stages of the window.

AS Monaco had previously led the race, while Nottingham Forest and other Premier League sides have also been linked.

Juventus have now made substantial progress.

Their proposal to Tottenham is reported to be a loan with a purchase clause which could become mandatory under certain conditions.

For Spurs, securing an obligation would provide greater certainty over Sarr’s long-term departure rather than simply allowing him to spend the campaign away from north London.

The midfielder joined Tottenham from Metz in 2021 before remaining with the French club on loan for another season.

His future could now be settled by another move abroad, with personal terms no longer standing between Sarr and Juventus.
