All the Tottenham Hotspur news this morning has been about Cristian Romero.
First, we reported in the morning that the Tottenham captain had agreed a deal with Inter Milan.
A few minutes ago, reports from Spain confirmed that Atletico Madrid now want to sign Romero as they continue to plot an eleventh-hour hijack.
We’ll bring you everything you need to know about the Argentine, but now, Fabrizio Romano has provided some transfer news that could be of interest to Tottenham.
Tottenham target Franco Mastantuono to join Fiorentina
Earlier this summer, reports from Argentina confirmed Tottenham’s interest in signing Franco Mastantuono on loan from Real Madrid.
The young Argentine showed a lot of promise initially, but after Xabi Alonso’s departure, he quickly fell out of favour.
Last week, we relayed claims that Fiorentina were in talks to sign Mastantuono on loan. And now, Romano has confirmed that he will move to the Serie A side on loan for the forthcoming season.
“BREAKING: Franco Mastantuono on loan to Fiorentina, here we go!” wrote Romano on X.
“Agreement reached with Real Madrid this morning, loan move for the Argentinian talent who joins the Italian club.
“Mastantuono will return to Real Madrid in June 2027.”
Tottenham are focused on other attackers like Ferran Torres and Cody Gakpo, while the likes of Savinho and Pedro Neto also have keen admirers at N17.
Mastantuono would have been a good addition, but the Lilywhites are better off making permanent transfers as opposed to dry loans as they aim to build a dynasty under Roberto De Zerbi.
