Roberto De Zerbi’s side are yet to win a game in the competition this season and have also struggled for goals, which has emerged as a massive problem.
In recent weeks, fans and pundits have questioned his position at the club as Tottenham splashed the cash in the summer.
And now, former Liverpool boss Arne Slot has been linked with a surprise move to North London.
Arne Slot could be open to joining Tottenham
ESPN sources confirm that while the Lilywhites have no immediate plans to sack De Zerbi, Slot could be tempted to take the job if they approach him, having come close to joining the club in the summer of 2023.
An excerpt from the article reads: “Despite an underwhelming second season at Liverpool, after he won the Premier League in his first, a move to Manchester United is off the table, given the teams’ rivalry.
“However, sources told ESPN that Slot was a serious contender for the Spurs job previously, before they settled on Ange Postecoglou in 2023, and under an entirely different regime it’s possible he could be tempted.”
Slot won the Premier League with Liverpool and is certainly a good coach, but talks of parting ways with De Zerbi shouldn’t even be entertained at this stage of the season, especially after spending a king’s ransom on players this summer.
