Tottenham Hotspur made it three Premier League wins in a row with a commanding 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace at home.
Goals from Archie Gray and Jan Paul van Hecke got the job done for Roberto De Zerbi as the Lilywhites moved to the top half of the league table.
Things have quickly turned around in North London since the international break and the players seem to be loving life under the Italian.
The win against Palace also marked one of Sandro Tonali’s best performances for the club as he dominated proceedings in the centre of the park alongside Mateus Fernandes.
And De Zerbi singled him out for special praise after the game.
Roberto de Zerbi raves about Tottenham midfielder Sandro Tonali
Speaking in his post-match press conference, De Zerbi believes Tottenham appeared as if they played with 12 men as Tonali was absolutely everywhere.
“We are improving the physical condition,” said the Italian via Football London.
“Tonali today was unbelievable, incredible. We played with two players more. Tonali was the double today.
“But we are improving with Archie Gray, with Robertson, the two central backs very well, to take the command of the game.”
Tonali has really come into his own recently and looks like he’s starting to settle down at his new club. De Zerbi clearly trusts him as one of the leaders of his new-look squad, so the sky is the limit for him if he carries on in the same vein.
