It has been a long road back for Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski as he continues to step up his return to the team.
The Swedish midfielder last featured for Tottenham before the UEFA Europa League final under Ange Postecoglou, when he suffered an Achilles injury.
Kulusevski hasn’t played a game of competitive football in nearly 18 months now and also missed the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Sweden.
And now, after the toughest period of his career, it appears as if there is finally light at the end of the tunnel.
Dejan Kulusevski features in 11v11 game for Tottenham
Matt Barlow of The Daily Mail reports that Kulusevski featured for Tottenham in an 11v11 game during the international break.
And while he isn’t expected to be in the matchday squad vs Manchester United in midweek, his appearance in the aforementioned game is the clearest sign yet that he is well and truly back in action.
Tottenham have had some wretched luck with injuries over the past 18 months, so they will certainly err on the side of caution with the gifted midfielder.
However, if everything goes as planned, Kulusevski could make his long-awaited return to competitive action sometime this month.
Roberto De Zerbi will speak to the media tomorrow, so expect him to be flooded with questions involving the elegant Swede.
