Tottenham Hotspur are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League standings and are winless in the competition this season.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side have a lot of work to do to click into gear fully as the international break draws to a climax.
Things went from bad to worse for Tottenham as both Micky van de Ven and Jan Paul van Hecke picked up injuries while playing for the Netherlands.
And now, reliable reports have confirmed that their injuries aren’t as bad as initially feared.
Double injury boost for Tottenham Hotspur
Van Hecke injured his toe during the Netherlands’ first game against Serbia as Xavi Hernandez confirmed that he couldn’t feature despite his best efforts.
Van de Ven, on the other hand, injured his wrist after Luka Jovic fell on him in what was an awkward altercation between the pair.
And now, Voetbal International have confirmed that both injuries aren’t serious, with the pair facing a race against time to face Manchester United this weekend.
Tottenham are desperate for a win and Manchester United head into the game in poor form, so De Zerbi and co will make it count.
It’s hard to predict at this point, but it appears likely that both Van de Ven and Van Hecke will at least be fit enough for the bench against the Red Devils.
