‘Ahead of schedule’ – Tottenham insider provides massive injury update

Tottenham Hotspur’s injury problems over the past two seasons are well documented.

They currently have a bunch of players on the treatment table, but it goes without saying that it won’t ever get as bad as last season.

Xavi Simons is a player who succumbed to an ACL injury during the back end of last season.

And now, Paul O’Keefe feels he could return ahead of schedule in what could be a massive boost for Tottenham.

Xavi Simons could return for Tottenham in 2026

When asked about Xavi being back on the grass, O’Keefe wrote on X: “Yes. There is a quiet confidence that he will return ahead of schedule.”

When asked if we could return before the end of the year, the Spurs insider responded with: “Let’s see!”

Simons missed the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the last few games for Tottenham last season after doing his ACL vs Wolves.

He was actually one of Tottenham’s best players under Igor Tudor and in De Zerbi’s early days, so his injury couldn’t have been more ill-timed.

The Lilywhites could do well with a player like him in the squad, but they will err on the side of caution with him, as is the case with Dejan Kulusevski.
