At a glance:
- Liverpool keeping tabs on Archie Gray
- Reds plotting move if Tottenham go down
- Gray ‘unsellable’ for De Zerbi
Archie Gray has been one of Tottenham’s standout players in what has been a dismal 2025-26 Premier League campaign so far.
The Englishman has played in multiple positions in defence and attack and has excelled everywhere.
The North London outfit have got a lot of transfers wrong in recent years, but with Gray, they couldn’t have been more spot on in terms of their recruitment.
A lot of Tottenham players could leave the club this summer if they suffer relegation. And now, if reports are to be believed, Liverpool could pounce for Gray if they drop down to the Championship.
Liverpool circling for Archie Gray
Gray made a name for himself with Leeds United in the Championship and signed for Tottenham in the summer of 2024.

Before he made the move, a handful of top clubs across England – including Liverpool – were in the race for him.
According to the Daily Mail, the Reds are keeping an eye on Gray’s situation and could make a move for him if they suffer relegation.
Liverpool are expected to reinforce their midfield this summer after their Premier League title defence faltered spectacularly.
Gray is also capable of playing as a right-back, which is another problematic position at Anfield, as the likes of Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong have struggled with injuries.
Gray untouchable for Tottenham
Gray has already played Championship football and is still young.

Regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season, he should be retained in the summer.
De Zerbi views Gray as one of three ‘unsellable’ players at Tottenham, with James Maddison and Conor Gallagher the other two.
He is simply too good a player to flog off, even if it’s for a massive fee. In fact, De Zerbi needs to build his Tottenham team around the likes of Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Xavi Simons and offload some of the older players.
We would even go as far as saying that he is a future Tottenham captain in the making if he carries on in the same vein and stays clear of injuries.
