Southampton U18s 1-3 Spurs

John McDermott’s academy side fought back from a goal down to beat Southampton on Saturday morning.

Stuart Wilkin put the hosts in front after just four minutes, converting a loose ball into the empty net after Olufela Oloma’s initial shot was blocked.

However Spurs were back on level terms just eight minutes later when Samuel Shashoua showed neat feet in the box before finishing coolly.

The visitors then found themselves in-front just after the half an hour mark as Ryan Loft captalized on a misplaced pass before finishing from a tight angle.

Loft then increased the lead on the stroke of half-time, converting from a similar position in what turned out to be the last goal of the game.

The win ensures that the youngsters continue their unbeaten start to the season after two wins and one draw.

They are back in action again next weekend against Fulham at Hotspur Way.
