Oduwa makes Rangers debut

On-loan Nathan Oduwa made his Rangers debut in a 5-1 win at Alloa on Sunday.

The youngster impressed in a 30-minute substitute cameo as Mark Warburton’s side won their second game in as many weeks.

He played a part in the final goal of the game, beating his man with multiple stepovers before cutting back to James Tavernier, whose shot was diverted in by Kenny Miller.

The 19-year-old then looked to have got an assist of his own, but Tavernier’s effort was ruled out, before a penalty shout after some nice skill was turned down.

Fellow loanee Dominic Ball was an unused substitute for The Gers, who retain top spot in the Scottish Championship with the victory.

Earlier on Saturday, Grant Ward was dropped to the bench as Rotherham United lost 2-1 to Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder was criticized for his performance in The Millers’ opening day defeat last weekend, and was an unused substitute this time around.
