West Ham U18s 1-1 Spurs

Kieran McKenna’s U18s side were held by fellow Londoners West Ham United on Saturday morning.

The Hammers looked to be on route to making amends for last week’s opening day defeat to Fulham when Oscar Borg struck on 12 minutes.

The 17-year-old finished off a nice move by lashing home Matt Carter’s knock down after a cross from the right.

However, Spurs struck back seven minutes before the break through Kazaiah Sterling – his second goal in as many games.

Marcus Edwards threaded the ball through to Charlie Hayford who in turn found Sterling in the box – with the latter applying the finishing touch to bring the visitors level.

Chances were few and far between in the second half and it was the threatening Sterling who had the best chance to grab a winner, but his effort in the dying seconds was blocked.

Spurs’ season continues next Saturday as they travel to Southampton.
