Tottenham are set to take on Everton tomorrow as they look for their first Premier League win of the season.
Roberto De Zerbi made ten new signings in the summer transfer window, and all of them, barring Tosin Adarabioyo, have already featured for the club.
Mykhailo Mudryk made his debut as a second-half substitute vs Nottingham Forest but picked up an injury in training, ruling him out for 6-8 weeks.
And now, De Zerbi has explained exactly how the Ukrainian picked up his injury.
Mykhailo Mudryk’s Tottenham injury explained
Speaking at a press conference (quotes via Football London), De Zerbi confirmed that Mudryk injured himself in training and got checked a few days later, which confirmed his long layoff.
“Playing without tackle, without different movement and he felt pain in the ankle and then after two days, he had a medical check and we knew the problem, but after a long time, we knew eh.
“A stupid injury but we are not stupid. When we signed Mudryk, we already knew it could be difficult to come back [straight away] as a normal player.”
Mudryk simply can’t seem to catch a break, having just returned to competitive action after two years. Rotten luck and so typically Tottenham, it has to be said.
