Tottenham transfer news as huge Archie Gray departure claim emerges on deadline day

Tottenham’s deadline day hasn’t been short of drama as they scramble to finalise their squad.

While the likes of Mykhaylo Mudryk and Tosin Adarabioyo are set to join the club from Chelsea, a handful of other notable departures have been confirmed today.

Archie Gray‘s future has suddenly become a talking point after various sources confirmed that he isn’t overly comfortable playing as a right-back under Roberto De Zerbi.

And now, reports from England claim Tottenham turned down an approach from an unnamed Premier League club before the transfer deadline.

Tottenham turn down Archie Gray approach

Tom Barclay wrote on X: “Understand Spurs have rejected an approach from a mystery club (not Brentford) for Archie Gray and do not intend to sell the player before the deadline.”

If it wasn’t abundantly clear before, it is now. De Zerbi has made it clear that Gray is a valued member of the squad, so Tottenham shouldn’t even entertain the conversation.

He’s part of the club’s newly inducted leadership group, which goes to show that the Lilywhites are planning their project around players like him.

Tottenham have had some important calls to make in the transfer market in recent days, but they wouldn’t have spent too much time mulling over this one.

If anything, it’s just deadline day lore now…
