‘Medical next’ – Fabrizio Romano confirms Tottenham transfer target will seal £65m move

‘Medical next’ – Fabrizio Romano confirms Tottenham transfer target will seal £65m move

Things are beginning to heat up as Tottenham and the rest of the Premier League teams scramble to add to their squads before transfer deadline day.

The Lilywhites have signed Savio and will imminently confirm Omar Marmoush’s arrival, as they remain on the lookout for another attacker.

Cody Gakpo was linked with Tottenham earlier, but it doesn’t look like Liverpool will sanction a move for him so late in the transfer window.

Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson was a player Tottenham considered as a versatile forward after the Blues said he wouldn’t be part of Xabi Alonso’s project.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Senegalese striker is heading to Aston Villa.

Tottenham target Nicolas Jackson heading to Aston Villa

The Italian wrote on X: “Nicolas Jackson to Aston Villa deal being completed as Chelsea set to accept £65m package offered by #AVFC.

“Jackson said yes to Villa project, spoke to Unai Emery and deal now at very final stages.

“Final green light needed on details and then medical next.”

Another transfer target bites the dust, but to be fair to Tottenham, they could have bid for him if they wanted and they didn’t.

Granted, Aston Villa have UEFA Champions League football this season, but De Zerbi has managed to convince a handful of top-class players to choose the Tottenham project, so if he really wanted Jackson, he would have made a play for him at the very least.
