Tottenham Hotspur have been the most active Premier League side in the summer transfer window.
And Roberto De Zerbi’s side are not quite done yet as they remain in the market for reinforcements.
While Eli Kroupi Junior and Savinho have been reliably linked with Tottenham, there was recently a report from Mundo Deportivo in Spain claiming that the Lilywhites want to sign Jules Kounde from Barcelona.
And now, Fabrizio Romano has played down those rumours in emphatic fashion.
No Tottenham interest in Jules Kounde
Kounde has been a multifaceted option for Barcelona and France over the years, filling in at right-back and in central defence.
Tottenham are well stacked in both positions, so the links were a bit strange in the first place.
And Romano says there is no truth in rumours linking Kounde with a move to North London.
“There’s nothing between Jules Koundé and Tottenham despite the links in the recent hours,” wrote the Italian on X.
“No interest, no negotiations.”
Between now and the end of the summer transfer window, Tottenham will focus on outgoings as a handful of youngsters and fringe players are likely to be moved on.
After that, De Zerbi will turn to his attack, which is in desperate need of more quality as Tottenham have scored just four goals in pre-season so far.
