- Tottenham looking to appoint Sebastian Kehl
- The sporting director left Borussia Dortmund in March
- Spurs could sign Karim Adeyemi
Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with potentially employing Sebastian Kehl as their co-Sporting Director.
Spurs parted ways with Fabio Paratici in February, as he joined Fiorentina. Hence, Johan Lange is currently their only Sporting Director. However, they are looking to sign another executive to work alongside the Dane.
Appointing Kehl could also help Tottenham reopen talks for Karim Adeyemi, with whom they were linked in January. They need attacking reinforcements after a terrible 2025-26 campaign.
Tottenham could sign Karim Adeyemi after appointing Sebastian Kehl
Spurs currently have just three fit attackers, as they prepare themselves to tackle the remaining four games of the season. However, Tottenham need to reinforce their attack, as many of their players have disappointed even when fit.
According to GiveMeSport, the north London side could sign Adeyemi this summer. They were also interested in him in January after Brennan Johnson’s exit and Mohammed Kudus’ injury. However, a deal didn’t materialize back then.
Tottenham are leading contenders to appoint Kehl as their new co-Sporting Director. The German worked from 2022 to March 2026 at Borussia Dortmund. Hence, Spurs could look to utilize his links with the German side to sign Adeyemi this summer.
The 24-year-old attacker can play across the frontline, much like Mathys Tel. He joined Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022, when Kehl joined the German side. He has scored 36 goals and provided 24 assists in 144 games for BVB.

It’s unclear whether Adeyemi would be interested in a move to Tottenham.
However, it will most likely depend on their Premier League status next season. His contract with Dortmund expires in 2027, and according to Transfermarkt, he could cost €50 million.
Adeyemi could be an excellent signing for Tottenham
Signing a player like Adeyemi, who is 24, could be the perfect age and experience profile for Tottenham. Moreover, he is an excellent player who can fill in at any position in the frontline or even attacking midfield.
In an interview with Sky Germany in November last year, Niko Kovac lauded Adeyemi’s skills and power, saying:
“He has such speed and power, which he needs to exploit and use much more. When he can go one-on-one and sprint into space, he’s strong.
“He can leap into the air with incredible spring-like tenacity. I’ve never seen a player jump that high. It’s brutal how much power he can generate.”
A player like this could also adjust quickly in the Premier League due to his physicality and intensity. Moreover, Tottenham will be without Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons at the start of the next season. Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, and Mohammed Kudus will be returning after long-term injuries.
