At a glance:
- Marcos Senesi has verbal agreement to join Tottenham
- Deal hinges on avoiding relegation
- Liverpool still in the hunt
Marcos Senesi is a name Tottenham fans would have heard of a lot in recent weeks.
The Argentine defender is set to leave Bournemouth on a free transfer this summer after three years at the Vitality Stadium.
Senesi has a verbal agreement to join Tottenham, but the deal hinges on whether or not they retain their Premier League status.
However, nothing has been signed yet, which is a cause of concern for Spurs.
And now, if reports are to be believed, another Premier League side are keeping a close eye on the situation.
Liverpool still in the hunt for Marcos Senesi
With just five games left to go, Tottenham are still fighting to remain in the Premier League. They are currently two points below 17th-placed West Ham United and need to win against Wolves later today.

The deal to take Senesi to Tottenham is reliant on them avoiding the drop, so there is a lot at stake here.
Caught Offside report that Liverpool could make a move for the Argentine. The Reds are keen to add a central defender to their ranks this summer as Ibrahima Konate is yet to sign a contract extension.
Liverpool already have Jeremy Jacquet coming in from Rennes, while Giovanni Leoni will also return next season as he continues to recover from an ACL injury.
If Tottenham avoid relegation, Senesi’s switch to North London looks like it will happen. For that to happen, though, they need to start putting wins on the board soon.
Senesi perfect for Tottenham
Senesi is one of the best ball-playing defenders in the Premier League. Primarily left-footed, his presence will also help Tottenham build up from the back, which is a key part of Roberto De Zerbi’s philosophy.

On a free transfer, it simply can’t get better for teams out there, so they need to do everything within their power to snap up the Bournemouth defender.
He comes with a wealth of Premier League experience and won’t affect their budget, allowing them to spend on other areas of the pitch.
Tottenham are crying out for a player of Senesi’s ability. If they manage to pull it off, it’s safe to say he would be a fantastic addition.
