It’s now-or-never for Tottenham Hotspur as they enter the final five games of the season in hopes of avoiding relegation.
Tottenham haven’t won a Premier League game since December 28, which sees them 18th in the standings. West Ham’s draw against Crystal Palace kept them just two points above Spurs. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest beat Burnley 4-1 to extend a five-point gap over the relegation zone.
The north London side will now hope to break their 15-game winless streak on Saturday, as they face Wolves at Molineux.
Wolves’ relegation was confirmed last week. Spurs would not get a better opportunity to register their first domestic win of 2026 than this. If they don’t, their relegation would become almost certain.
Meanwhile, after a decent performance in their 2-2 draw against Brighton, Roberto De Zerbi might not be expected to make too many changes. However, he will be forced into some.
Tottenham predicted XI vs Wolves
GK: Guglielmo Vicario
In his pre-Brighton press conference, De Zerbi said that Vicario would be back in training on Monday. He also said (h/t The Standard):
“But Vicario is another important player for us. Big experience, big character, personality. And we are waiting for him.”
It suggests Vicario will return to the starting XI as soon as he is fit. Kinsky performed well against Brighton, but the Italian is Tottenham’s first-choice goalkeeper and must return.
Defense: Pedro Porro, Kevin Danso, Micky van de Ven, Djed Spence
Reports suggest Destiny Udogie has suffered another injury issue and will miss the Wolves game. Hence, Djed Spence is more likely to replace him at left-back than 19-year-old Souza.

Meanwhile, the other three remain the same. Despite his error that cost Spurs the win, Kevin Danso performed well against Brighton. He will be keen to make amends against Wolves.
Midfield: Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma, Conor Gallagher
Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma returned from their respective injuries against Brighton and performed well.
It can be argued that had they been fit enough to play the entire game, Tottenham would have won it comfortably. Hence, they must retain their position, despite Archie Gray’s decent performances this year.
Meanwhile, Conor Gallagher was given a free role against Brighton and put in a good shift. He is expected to retain his place in the starting XI.
Attack: Xavi Simons, Dominic Solanke, Randal Kolo Muani
With no right winger, Randal Kolo Muani is the default pick for the rest of the season. Meanwhile, Xavi Simons scored and assisted against Brighton from the left wing and will likely keep his place.
Richarlison is Tottenham’s top scorer this season, but De Zerbi has started Dominic Solanke as the striker in both his games. He clearly prefers the Englishman, and hence, he will likely start against Wolves as well.

Spurs put in a decent performance against Brighton by their standards this season. However, the key now is to not only replicate it but also improve on it against Wolves.
This is undoubtedly a make-or-break game for Tottenham in the relegation battle.
