Tottenham news today: All eyes on West Ham, new goalkeeper linked and fresh Bergvall claim emerges

The Premier League relegation battle is the talk of the town and Tottenham find themselves in the thick of things at the moment.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side fared well against Brighton but came away with just a point.

And Nottingham Forest’s win against Burnley rubbed salt into their wounds as they went five clear of Tottenham.

Later today, things could get even worse for the North London club as West Ham United take on Crystal Palace. A win for the Hammers would take them four clear of Tottenham, so all eyes will be on Selhurst Park.

We’re all Crystal Palace today, aren’t we?

Oliver Glasner’s side haven’t been at their best in recent weeks and aren’t playing for much in the Premier League.

West Ham, on the other hand, are in a relegation dog-fight and have found form at the back end of the season.

Tottenham’s destiny may not be in their own hands, so they need teams around them to drop points in the coming weeks to stand a chance of avoiding relegation.

Brennan Johnson, we’re looking at you, in particular. You’re already a Tottenham icon for that night in Bilbao, now time to make yourself a legend by delivering a hammer blow to Nuno and Co later today.

Lucas Chevalier, anyone?

Guglielmo Vicario has been heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan. We don’t know yet if his return to Serie A is set in stone, but his departure – one way or another – is on the cards.

RMC Sport report that Tottenham have already made contact to sign PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, who has lost his place in the team in recent weeks.

Matvey Safonov is their first-choice goalkeeper, which has led to claims that Chevalier’s place in France’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad could be in doubt.

Tottenham will sign a new goalkeeper this summer and a host of names have already been mentioned. Time to add the French international to the list, then.

Arsenal and Chelsea want Bergvall

Lucas Bergvall’s season has been interrupted due to injuries, but he’s fit and firing now.

The young Swede was Tottenham’s Player of the Year last season and is a key part of Graham Potter’s squad for his national team.

However, due to the club’s current state, talks of a departure have intensified recently. Caught Offside report that Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping tabs on the talented midfielder, especially if Tottenham suffer relegation.

However, the report confirms that Bergvall is hailed as ‘unsellable’ by the club, which is a hands-off warning if there ever was one.

Silly season is well and truly in full swing, eh?
