  • Antonin Kinsky set to undergo surgery in the summer
  • Goalkeeper not called up by Czech Republic
  • Kinsky still fit to play for Tottenham

Antonin Kinsky has been a key player for Tottenham Hotspur under Roberto De Zerbi after Gugliemo Vicario’s injury.

And now, according to Alasdair Gold, it looks like the Czech goalkeeper is nursing a problem of his own.

Last week, Vicario was deemed fully fit, but Kinsky still kept his place between the sticks as Tottenham lost 2-1 to Chelsea.

It has now been revealed that the 22-year-old will undergo surgery in the summer and will be unavailable for the 2026 FIFA World Cup for his country.

Kinsky to undergo small procedure

Jamie Carragher described Kinsky’s contributions in recent weeks as ‘vital’ as the Czech goalkeeper continues to make a massive impression.

And now, Gold has confirmed that he will undergo a small medical procedure at the end of the season to treat a medical issue rather than an injury.

This effectively confirms that Kinsky has been playing despite his health issue, which goes to show just how much he wants to make an impression at Tottenham.

And he has been simply superb under De Zerbi, making crucial saves against Brighton, Wolves and Aston Villa.

Earlier today, Kinsky was left out of the Czech Republic squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after deciding to undergo surgery in the summer.

Matej Kovar is likely to be their first choice anyway, but the fact that Kinsky opted to undergo surgery in the summer to give up on a spot in the team is still a selfless decision and a priceless sacrifice for Tottenham.

Kinsky deserves his plaudits for recent Tottenham displays

After his horror show in Madrid under Igor Tudor, it looked like Kinsky’s Tottenham career was over.

He was substituted with just 15 minutes played on the clock and walked straight down the tunnel after the toughest night of his career.

The world of football rallied around him after the game, but the mental fortitude needed to put that behind him and deliver solid performances still needs praising.

And to add to that, he has seemingly put Tottenham over his national team by playing now and opting to have surgery in the summer.

Regardless of what happens, Kinsky deserves a lot of respect for his recent displays and the Tottenham fans will remember his contributions since De Zerbi took over the reigns at the club.
