Tottenham’s search for fresh attacking options is throwing up several names at once, with Omar Marmoush emerging as a surprise target, a possible Randal Kolo Muani reunion taking shape and Rafael Leao’s camp still open to a move to N17. Here’s where each of the three sagas stands.
Marmoush Emerges As Tottenham And Newcastle Chase Man City Forward
According to TEAMtalk’s Graeme Bailey, both Tottenham and Newcastle have made enquiries about Omar Marmoush, with the Egypt international facing a decisive conversation with new Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca over his role at the Etihad. Marmoush joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth close to £60m in January 2025 but started just eight Premier League games last season, and Bailey reports several Bundesliga clubs are also monitoring the situation.
Spurs’ interest appears to have cooled on Marmoush’s team-mate Savinho in favour of the more available forward, according to Sports Mole, while Newcastle would look to fund a move partly with the £100m they banked from Sandro Tonali’s switch to Tottenham. Marmoush is not said to be rushing towards an exit and wants clarity on his role before deciding whether to push for a move.
De Zerbi ‘Not Displeased’ At Prospect Of Kolo Muani Return
Italian outlet Tuttosport reports that Tottenham are among the clubs to have placed an offer on Paris Saint-Germain’s desk for Randal Kolo Muani, who spent last season on loan at the club. Roberto De Zerbi is said to be ‘not displeased’ at the idea of the France international returning to north London, though Juventus remain in the frame and Crystal Palace are also credited with interest.
Kolo Muani scored five goals in 41 appearances during his loan spell at Spurs, a return European football expert Andy Brassell argued was harsh to judge, telling talkSPORT the forward arrived short of match fitness after spending pre-season expecting a move to Juventus instead. Juventus are said to be struggling to meet PSG’s asking price this time round, leaving the door open for Tottenham, Palace and clubs in Germany to keep tracking the situation.
AC Milan Prepared To Sanction Rafael Leao Exit, Says Romano
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed AC Milan are willing to let Rafael Leao leave this summer, telling his YouTube channel the winger remains “a player out of their long-term project” under new head coach Ruben Amorim despite a productive World Cup so far. Romano himself named Cody Gakpo and Savinho, rather than Leao, as Roberto De Zerbi’s genuine priority targets earlier this week, though Milan’s willingness to sell at around €60m (£51m) keeps Tottenham in the picture as a fallback option.
Italian journalists Daniele Longo and Enzo Bucchioni have both reported that Leao himself is ready to accept a move to Tottenham if that fee is met, with Bucchioni pointing to the player’s representation, shared with Milan’s Goncalo Ramos, as a reason he expects the transfer to move quickly if the two clubs agree terms.
