Tottenham want to sign €45m ‘game changer’ in January

Tottenham training return: Roberto De Zerbi celebrating on the touchline in a Tottenham context

Tottenham are expected to be active in the upcoming transfer windows to bolster their squad.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side drafted in ten new players during the summer transfer window, but the Lilywhites still have a few gaping holes to address.

In terms of their attacking options, Tottenham could do well with a bit more quality and end product, especially with a handful of players struggling with injuries.

And now, if reports from Germany are to be believed, they want to sign Yuito Suzuki, who has made quite the impression in the Bundesliga as a versatile frontman.

Tottenham interested in signing Yuito Suzuki

According to Fussball News, De Zerbi’s side are among the leading candidates for the Freiburg man, who is also wanted by AC Milan.

Suzuki is expected to cost around €45m and although Tottenham are interested in signing him in January, the Bundesliga side have no intention of losing one of their best players midway through the season.

Freiburg teammate Yannik Engelhardt referred to Suzuki as an exceptional player, adding that his qualities make him a ‘game changer.’

“I didn’t know him [Yuito Suzuki] personally before,” said Engelhardt via Campo.

“I had only seen him from a distance in the Bundesliga. What you see in the games and in training is truly exceptional.

“He is groundbreaking and incredibly fun to play with. His ball control and high-speed dribbling are impressive,” said the Freiburg player, who also called Suzuki a ‘game changer’.”

The 24-year-old can play as an attacking midfielder, a second striker or out wide, making him a multi-faceted option for Tottenham.

Whether or not they sign him remains to be seen, but Suzuki certainly seems like an intriguing, under-the-radar target for the Lilywhites.
