One or two players are expected to join Tottenham Hotspur before the deadline, but in terms of departures, they have a bit more work to do.
Mikey Moore will join FC Koln on loan and Pape Sarr is headed to Juventus on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.
Kevin Danso has also been linked with a departure before the deadline as Sunderland are chasing his signature.
And now, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Souza will leave Tottenham to join FC Porto on loan after slipping down the pecking order at the club.
Souza to leave Tottenham on loan
He wrote on X: “FC Porto agree deal to sign Souza from Tottenham, here we go!
“Loan move until June 2027, Souza will be in Oporto today with authorization to travel from THFC.
“Salary to be covered by Porto, then Souza returns to Spurs in June next year. Deal done.”
Souza only arrived at the club in January under Thomas Frank in a deal worth £13m but has struggled to get to grips with English football.
Andy Robertson, Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies are ahead of him in the pecking order, so a loan move makes sense for all parties involved.
