Tottenham transfer news as Newcastle hijack transfer after Fabrizio Romano update

Tottenham are in the market for attacking players and are expected to be active until the transfer deadline.

Talks are ongoing to complete deals for Savinho and Omar Marmoush, while a late move for Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo also can’t be ruled out.

Earlier this summer, TEAMtalk reported that Tottenham were one of the teams interested in signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille.

And now, it appears as if Newcastle United have stolen a march on him with an official offer.

Newcastle United make offer for Tottenham target Matias Fernandez-Pardo

Two days ago, Fabrizio Romano confirmed on X that RB Leipzig made a move to sign the Belgian international.

However, Loic Tanzi confirmed earlier today that Newcastle United have submitted an official offer worth €45m for Fernandez-Pardo, who is keen to leave Lille this summer.

The versatile forward has attracted interest from a host of clubs across Europe this season and is one to watch between now and the end of the summer transfer window.

What does this mean for Tottenham, though? Roberto De Zerbi’s side will first look to officially announce deals for Marmoush and Savinho.

After those transfers are confirmed, they are expected to make a play for Gakpo, who is also wanted by Manchester City.

If they are unable to sign the Dutchman, don’t be surprised to see the Lilywhites pivot to Fernandez-Pardo if he doesn’t sign for Newcastle or another club by then.
