Micky van de Ven sends classy messages to Djed Spence and Cristian Romero

Micky van de Ven sends classy messages to Djed Spence and Cristian Romero

In what has been a summer of change for Tottenham Hotspur, two crucial first-team departures were confirmed earlier today.

Djed Spence sealed a move to Inter Milan as he got his wish to leave the club after a strong showing for England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

As for Romero, Atletico Madrid eventually won the race for him after he attracted interest from Barcelona, Inter Milan and Arsenal.

Both players have officially left the club, and Micky van de Ven has taken to social media to wish his former teammates well.

Referring to Spence as his brother, the Dutch international shared a picture on social media with a touching caption.

Romero, who was his regular centre-back partner, also got a similar post with a special caption.

Both Spence and Romero released their own statements earlier today to thank the Tottenham fans for their support over the years.

This feels a bit bittersweet as we’ve known for a while that both players would be leaving.

Romero’s Tottenham career didn’t end as he’d have hoped, but he always wore his heart on his sleeve and fought for the club.

Spence, meanwhile, took a while to come into his own and was one of Tottenham’s better players last season, so it kind of feels like he was sold at the worst time.

Anyhow, good luck for what’s to come, Cuti and Djed!
