Tottenham Hotspur are set to face Hoffenheim twice in as many days as they continue to prepare for the 2026-27 Premier League season.
Roberto De Zerbi is set to field a strong squad for the game tomorrow, which could serve as a dress rehearsal for the season opener vs Brentford.
The likes of Cristian Romero and Djed Spence won’t be part of the squad as they are close to completing their respective moves to Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan, respectively.
The game, however, will mark the returns of Pedro Porro and Micky van de Ven.
And now, Standard Sport have confirmed that Mohammed Kudus could be set to feature tomorrow, while James Maddison could also make his first appearance of pre-season.
Tottenham could have Maddison and Kudus back
While Tottenham have erred on the side of caution with Maddison after his ACL injury, Kudus has yet to feature under De Zerbi but is likely to make an appearance tomorrow.
An excerpt from the aforementioned report reads: “There is hope that Mohammed Kudus could play for the first time since January after returning to full-team training following a serious quad injury.
“His return is being managed, with De Zerbi admitting the club initially rushed Kudus back before he suffered a setback in his recovery in April.
“However, he is said to be closing in on a return to full fitness, in a major boost to Spurs’ attacking options.”
Kudus’ return could prove to be priceless for De Zerbi and Tottenham. When he’s fit and firing, he’s a shoo-in for a spot on the right wing and is also capable of playing centrally.
As for Maddison, it is another step in the right direction for the England international, who, much like Kudus, could also prove to be an invaluable asset for the Italian.
