Tottenham’s search for an attacker continues as they scour the market for opportunities.
We’ve covered news involving the usual suspects heavily, but this is about another player who has keen admirers at the club.
Earlier this summer, Said El Mala was linked with Tottenham and it looked like a Premier League move could be on the cards for the winger.
Especially with Mikey Moore set to move to FC Koln, it looked like there could be a deal to be done for the two clubs involved.
However, it appears as if El Mala has his heart set on a move to Borussia Dortmund, thanks in no small part to new Germany boss Jurgen Klopp.
Tottenham target El Mala wants Dortmund move
Koln want €50m for El Mala and Dortmund’s latest offer was €37m, which was turned down.
However, both clubs remain in talks to complete the deal and the German international has reportedly spoken to Klopp, who advised him to move to his former club.
Patrick Berger wrote on X: “Exciting: National team coach Jürgen Klopp, per Sky reports, has already had a conversation with El Mala and sees him as a key player for the national team in the future.
“According to Express, Klopp has reportedly pushed in the background for a move to Dortmund.”
Another day, and seemingly another transfer target gone. Tottenham need to pull up their socks and narrow their shortlist down to the ones they really want to sign as they are running out of time to add to their attacking firepower.
